Yes, I couldn't agree more. First off he's foreign and wouldn't know a soy bean if it hit him in the head.
Soybeans are important to our state's economy and to those of us who were raised in the rural south.
Screw the foreigner and hail to our fantastic coach Dabo!! Synonym for Dabo??? CHAMPION!

I'm betting you're right, and I would also bet that, if there were a corn field on the opposite side of the road of a soybean field, he couldn't pick out the soybean field with a 50/50% chance of him making a lucky guess....

Um...soybeans are from Asia. They are the very definition of foreign. We just happen to grow them here now.

The more success Dabo has, the more things like this will come up...like the FFRF losers.
People on here are acting like John Oliver killed their puppy or something. If Dabo had a .500 record at Clemson do you think he would ever be mentioned on HBO? We know who our coach is and what he's about. His former and current players know him and what kind of man he is. Recruits are getting in line to play for him. So who really cares about soybean wind?

was completely valid...not saying I agree athletes should be paid...just that he made a sound argument for it. Dabo's a big boy. He doesn't need your help this time.

He didn't really make an argument at all

He just lampooned everything and everyone who disagreed with what he was saying. I mean, he argued that scholarships were basically worthless because we can't be sure what a college education is worth. Except lots of studies have shown that college graduates earn much more than high school graduates, and other students without elite athletic talent seem to think those schools are worth whatever the particular amount of tuition is.
His only real argument was that it was unjust for the schools and media to be making lots of money off of students who have to sign away their rights to remain amateurs. He would've done better to focus more on the arcane regulations the NCAA imposes on kids rather than making the whole thing about paying student athletes. The petty stuff can easily be changed without upsetting the delicate balance that ensures that smaller schools still have the ability to compete with the bigger, richer schools. Once students are allowed to be paid, obviously the bigger and richer schools are going to do better in the "labor market," while the smaller schools will fall further behind.

Also, it was ironic John Oliver used the soundbyte tactic. He came from the Daily Show where Jon Stewart on a regular basis blasted the media over the use of soundbytes for dumbing down the political dialogue. Also, that video clip is a year old from the spring game
