Is that a national championship year for us? Could this really be the year?

Disagree they would be favored in every game easily

With both Boyd and Hopkins. Carolina loses some key players on D, this was supposed to be there year. UGA loses key players, so does FSU. Gotta watch out for the GTs though.

As always, we go 14-0 until proven otherwise...

...what is gained by believing otherwise?

I'll be disappointed if we don't go 14-0, and odds are we won't. But that temporary disappointment should never obscure a horizon of hope. Cowering in fear of disappointment is a poor way of to live life.
Did we win the games we were supposed to? We missed on one, but it was hardly the ww-t-f sort of thing we've seen in years past.
Did we lose the games we were supposed to? Yep and nope. The two certainly balance out, in the long run.
Did we beat the Capons? Nope ... but since I never assume a loss to them going into the season, I see no reason to start now.
Now, the close games in 2013, assuming things will be as they now, are should be: JawJaw (at home); at GTech (always a pain in the rear) and at UCS. Where's FSU? I see the Noles as a depleted foe coming into our house for some much-needed payback.
Any possible ##### game depends on how the new conference schedule comes out, so there's no need to worry about it.
So, why look for losses where they may well not exist?

Must beat the ranked opponents on our schedule

In 2011 we took down 3 of them and that got us a #5 ranking, briefly. We've all seen that wins against unranked ACC teams contribute little or nothing to our standing. If we can prepare for the UGA, FSU and USuK games like we did LSU we have a legitimate shot. IMO

There have been undefeated teams in the past.............

that did not win the MNC. Even if we are 14-0, ESPN and the BCS would find a way for a two loss SEC team to play a one loss SEC team for the championship. Remember that the computers hate us and most poll voters don't ever see us play and vote for their top 25 based on what they hear and see on ESPN.

National Champonship???? What are you smoking? The ACC is about the weakest conference in the country top to bottom and the Tigers could not win that in 2012 and now you are talking about a national championship? Let's just get that Conference Championship and then look beyond that!

I say we beat UGA, FSU and SC but...

drop one to GT/Syracuse or some average team along the way. Finish 11-1, win acccg vs. UNC or Miami, then beat Louisville in Orange bowl. We finish 13-1 and # 4 in country.
Ohio St. beats Stanford for Title.
Stanford and Ohio State go undefeated. AL (11-1) plays ND (10-2)again next year in Sugar but wins this one.
Ohio St 1, AL 2, Stanford 3, Clemson 4
By the way, SC loses 3 in reg season and loses to Michigan in outback rematch. WOW!
Ga loses to Miami in CFA.
That is all.
