No uproar from Pubs about today's Senate hearing on Covid?

May 12, 2020, 5:34 PM

It was such a problem the other day when the House held a hearing. One would assume it's just as awful when the Senate does it.

Wilmo?

Swarley?

Anyone else who said hearings are cheap and political in this thread?:

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

Democrat or Republican, this one is the worst. Nothing says 'credibility' like a congresswoman wearing a cowgirl hat.

or an idiot for that matter...

The House is a total clown show

lol., you must have missed the part where Bernie Sanders Grilled Facui about whether or not the vaccine would be free to everyone. They were all just kind of looking at each other in awe, with no way to reasonably answer that question being that they don't make these decisions. it was a fine piece of grandstanding..

now i am curious., looking that up.

not a bad look for him. Cruz and his wolverine beard stole the show last summer. I have to admit, it made him look like less of a worm and more like a man.

Don’t know a thing about it, but I’ll just concede.

May 12, 2020, 8:12 PM

If it was akin to how we were discussing the house hearings (an effort to pass judgement on our performance in response to the virus) then I would still say it’s too early but you are right to say it undermines my claim of the house hearing being a pure political ploy.

If she's a hollerer, she'll be a screamer.
If she's a screamer, she'll get you arrested.

Nothing was bad about either of them.

Yet the House hearing was being criticized here before it took place.

Seems a little unfair.

You (and others) literally changed my mind in that thread about the House hearing. But I still get called out here? Come on, man.

Also, I've been out of pocket a little bit

May 13, 2020, 6:18 AM

So I know absolutely nothing about the Senate having a hearing. But I'll look it up to see what happened.

No one knows about the Senate hearing because the right-wing echo chamber didn't announce it and manipulate 1988 into posting about it.

You're right. I'll edit out your name.***

Prod is a republican?

I've always thought he was more middle of the road than just about anyone else here.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wouldn't consider myself "middle of the road"

May 13, 2020, 8:54 AM

I would view myself as very conservative.

However, I don't ascribe to political parties, so no, I am not a Republican.

Ok maybe I was confused cause I've never seen you engage in any of the partisan mudslinging. ??
