The fact that you posted this is one. It shows that you need to squash any perception that we are a major player now and in discussion for the national championship the last few years. I would think if you had to start a thread about making our 5 year double digit reign less than it is...then that says more about the Clemson program than it does ours. Why do you keep losing to a team that has done nothing if that's the case ? Turnovers??? Well you can't figure that out ? You gave up on the running game ? Well, don't do that again....Alshon's gone and we will win...didn't....You guys just need to admit that we have won and were the better team. This isn't last seconfd field goal wins...it's double digit wins...5 in a row. The SEC has multiple teams in the top ten and with 2 BCS bids we lost out. If we had been in any other league we would have played multiple BCS games. We are in a confrence that dominates championships, recruiting, and money so the chips fall where they do because of it...but it comes to reality when our teams take the field in Nov....and right now we are winning big. That is how you compare, not by proxy wins and loses.

I'm genuinely curious, because the 6-9 wins a year under Bowden sure looked awfully nice to some of you. Would SC fans loved to have seen a conference championship or BCS appearence? Sure, but you look extremely disengenuous when you claim your rivals have accomplished nothing.
I think many of you have an issue accepting that Clemson and SC are now considered to be on equal footing. The Gamecocks are one of the hottest programs in the country, and there is nothing to point at that leads me to believe they will soon go back to .500 seasons.

You raised good points until you started talking about the
SEC. Nobody in the SEC respects USC. Honestly not trying to
be crass. But they view USC similar to Kentucky or Vandy or
Tenn. You cannot seriously say that the SEC is so tough that you can't beat Tennessee. Win the games you are supposed
to and then have this conversation. Also,Tennessee was not a
better team than USC. So does that make them better? Food
for thought

How many times did clemson blowbit against NC State or Wake? Hmm. What is funny to me is what you really see on your roater that makes you believe you will win this year. You are unproven just about everywhere on offense, gone are Spiller, Bryant, watkins, boyd, etc. Yeah your defense is good but so is our offense.
Do you want to know why we have won 5 in straight? Coaching! No trick plays on opening drives, ball control and clock management. Nothing flashy abiut what we do, we just grind. It has payed off every time. If you think Cole Stoudt is better than Tahj Boyd then yall are in for a long year. Good luck Between th Hedges, you WILL need it.

Ok. Since you asked...
Yes. Our defense is stacked. No question.
Offense.
Our WRs will not be a concern. We will have Peake, who gets
the Medical Redshirt from being injured last year. I believe
he is going to be great. Will see sophomore Mike Williams
start to get more playing time. He has great hands and knows
how to chase down a bad pass. I've seen it.
Our RBs are going to be lethal. We have four in line and I
think that all four could start. Fast, big, strong and smart.
Offensive line is experienced and battle tested.
Stoudt looks as though he has a higher football IQ or even
just a higher QB IQ. Watching him at the spring game and
seeing him in the games where he did get to play, he was
never bad. He's smart, has an arm, accurate and can run
if he needs to.
Our offense will score points. Do not worry. So if we
score 25-30 points per game, we probably won't lose any.
Defense wins championships, right?
And to your first paragraph. You are right. We have lost
the games that we should not have lost too. It could
happen to anybody. However, the 2 games we lost this year
were to two really good teams. The CU and USC game can
go either way every year. That is no secret. Both teams
are good now. I'm not denying that. But people can't
really think that it is ever OK to lose to one of the SEC
teams that are not any good and still brag about how much
of a powerhouse the SEC is.

Since you asked..........and you did ask! Gamecock fans don't have much at all to brag about, as far as hardware, championships, etc. Everyone knows that, most especially SC fans. Gamecocks are "so proud" these days because they, and the rest of the football loving nation, know that these past few years have been the high point of SC football history. They're excited about the next season, hoping to build on the success of the past one, and hoping the best is yet to come. On the other hand, honest Clemson fans must recognize and acknowledge that the Tigers' best years, so far, were from 1956-1991, when Clemson was winning an average of one ACC championship in less than every three years, plus a National Championship. At present,the Tigers have won only one ACC Championship in the past twenty-two years, and this presents a serious conundrum to Tiger fans who want to bring up SC's truly pitiful athletic history. I hope this helps you to genuinely understand the situation better.

Ask the saints fans who suffered for years, ask tiger fans who suffered through some lean years here and there.
It's because it is your team. Not everyone picks a team or school based on how the football team history is other than maybe a football player wanting to make it to the Nfl.
So if you are truly a sports fan outside of Clemson fans you probably have a heart for fans who suffered for so many years.
It is actually a very juvenile question
