Kind of a waste of talent. I wish him the very best in his career though he is a talented young man

If he goes to Michagan, you are entitled to your opinion if you don't think so

opinion, I really do appreciate that.
I don't see how going to Michigan is a waste of talent though, can you explain more? Michigan was clearly the 2nd best team in the B1G last year, in only Harbaugh's first year. JH took a 5-7 team from 2014 and made them 10-3 in 2015. They have a top 5 recruiting class coming, and that's without Gary. Their coach, while seemingly a first rate d!ck and a weirdo, is a proven winner at every level. Michigan is one of the best college football programs of all time.
I would love for Gary to pick Clemson, but I don't see how it's a waste of talent if he goes to Michigan.

It's not just that. They have offered schollies to friends as well. They have cut loose commits that are 4* to release schollies for these friends. Harbaugh is using a scorched earth policy to sign this kid. It may backfire on him, but I doubt it. Clemson will be fine. Really would like at least one of our top 2 CB targets and 1 of our top 2 Safety targets to commit. Those would help greatly.

Giving kids special considerations like signing friends, etc, and they usually expect to continue having leverage when on campus. Package deals rarely work

they want to go somewhere else, they won't be all in if you coerce them somehow. The Micheal Carr saga still burns. I would rather have an athlete who is sold on the program. Clemson has proved that hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard.

self-interest doesn't seem to impress Ms. Coney much

so his HS coach riding on the coat-tails of her son may not be her thing. And maybe then this won't work out to UM's favor.
She seems to be genuinely concerned about her son's future well-being, and kudo's to her if that is the case. So if he goes to Clemson or Michigan or Arky State,
here's hoping his decision turns out well for him.
Either way, if Clemson keeps following the leadership it has,
I have no doubt we'll be alright.

Per Rashan's mother, just 6 days ago:
“Is Michigan the team to beat? You can ask is Clemson the team to beat. You can ask is USC the team to beat. Right about now, we're all about equal,” Coney said. “I think that maybe they say that Michigan is the team to beat because Rashan's former head coach is there. And? Why couldn't Clemson be the team to beat when my brother is 10 minutes down the road and I don't have to worry about anybody because I know Rashan would be okay at Clemson because if he wasn't okay my brother is 10 minutes down the road. Why wouldn't they say Clemson is the team to beat? I would say my brother has a stronger relationship with Rashan than his coach."
Not everyone is interested in college being the high school after party. I certainly wasn't. I went to Clemson because of how far away it was from home and to experience something new. Not go to NYU, Columbia, Cornell, Albany, etc. to see the same people on campus I'd seen for most of my life. Rashan's mother has already commented on the niceties of "the South", how friendly everyone was, etc., earlier in the recruiting process. Michigan isn't all that different from NJ, weather / people-wise. I absolutely think, given a good showing this weekend (if he actually visits), that Rashan Gary will be in Clemson Orange on February 3rd.

His mom stated she is TIRED and ready for this to be OVER, She seems to have a large role in helping with his decision. Knowing this and his friends and HS coach are at Michigan YET HE STILL HAS NOT COMMENTED and is still taking visits makes me feel we still have a great shot.
If I was him and I already knew where I wanted to go, and my mom stated she was tired of the process now. Maybe I don't commit and wait till NSD but I Definitely would cancel the last couple visits for my moms sake. He has not and will be here this weekend.
We are going to get Gary and his friends and coach will be happy to be at UM.
