So, in order to focus on my long, thick, girthy

Jul 1, 2020, 3:27 PM

"to-do list" (mostly, work...but some personal/around-the-house stuff), I haven't drank in 2.5 weeks...and only twice in 3.5+ weeks.

not that I drank 'a lot', but it was routine, pretty much daily. 2-3 beers average

'tis my birthday, so this streak will end shortly this afternoon, and prob resume to some extent after this holiday weekend

Haven't really missed it, hasn't been a challenge (not that I expected it to be)...

but also, I don't feel even the slightest bit 'better' (not that i felt bad prior, necessarily), nor have I lost any weight. Really, no discernible benefit other than the impact to my wallet (which is noteworthy, i guess, as I don't tend to buy cheap beer)

I know Ineligible user® has mentioned the 'lack' of noticeable benefits in previous threads, so I figured I'd reconfirm some of that thinking.

Also, I wanted to say long, thick & girthy.

that's all.

But I make myself wait until poker night (tonight) then I drink like a fish until monday.

Wife of said the other day she has no idea how I drink all that I do over the weekend and not die.

I DO drink every day.

Jul 1, 2020, 4:20 PM [ in reply to I want to drink every day. ]

Every ####### day.

Because FBCoachSC® posts about his two kids and nagging wife.

Every day.

Well, that, and the disturbing lack of capitalization and punctuation.

Sometimes I sleep better

Jul 1, 2020, 3:34 PM

because I don't have to get up and pee. But that's been about it.

But I'm still waiting on the rainbows in the sky, "God I feel so alive!" moment when I haven't had a beer for a few months.

Normally something crappy happens, and I'll go drink a few. I mean if being sober was that great feeling, I wouldn't have started drinking again.

But I’m gonna take the other job next week. So yes I have been drinking like a fish. Sleeping till 1pm, up till 3am. It’s been fun

Things are actually slightly worse now,

Jul 1, 2020, 4:04 PM

what with lugging around that "quitter" label.

Clean living is more than giving up booze.

Jul 1, 2020, 7:22 PM

It’s also ridding the body of sugar, dairy, caffeine, and meat.

Then exercise and daily mindfulness practice.

Feels better than anything but not easy to maintain.

2-3 days of initial detox can be hard, but then so good.

Jul 1, 2020, 8:15 PM

Increased energy. Feel lighter. No headaches. Fewer aches and pains. Sleep like a baby. Poop like a goose. BP down. Sex drive up.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg2016_nascar_champ.gif flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yeah, i'm not signing up for that

Jul 2, 2020, 8:32 AM [ in reply to Clean living is more than giving up booze. ]

however, the dairy thing...i think i might've developed a bit of an intolerance to that

dropping the beer was also a bit of an experiment, to see if it was having any uh...'gastro effects'. Nothing changed over those 2.5-3.5 weeks, and the only other regularly consumed thing is coffee w/ half & half

This might be the next experiment....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

taint easy. Especially during these times. APM sees beer
