I dont have much of an opinion on this non-football matter

Re: Pole: Are you ok with cheating to win in basketball?

Generally, I’m okay with it bc everyone is apparently cheating. If everyone is paying players, and we also pay players, then in a practical aspect, our payments to players is excluded from being an act of cheating. However practicality never receives much precedent in United States courts nor from the NCAA. Cheat at your own peril.

Yes, it is. He discussed it in length on the Joe Rogan podcast interview. Have you listened to it?

Absolutely not. I'd rather go winless and be clean than win by cheating.

You should support Brad then

Mar 21, 2019, 9:31 AM

He's clean and goes .500 in the ACC which is quite a bit better than winless.

I think the NIT rule changes help us but I would love to learn more your approach. Please elaborate.

No. There is no doubt that cheating is fairly common

in major college basketball, and that many, if not most coaches who succeed at the highest levels operate in what would be considered a gray area at best. I don't want us to be that; I'd be perfectly happy with being the best we can be by doing things the right way.

No. If Dabo can build a giant so can our basketball coach. If Dabo had started dirty it would tarnish everything we have now.

Take a look at one of the tenets of Dabo’s program and answer your own question:

We aren't UNC or UCLA so we won't get away with it. Ask LSU and Kansas!

Re: Pole: Are you ok with cheating to win in basketball?

Mar 21, 2019, 11:17 AM

There are plenty of sketchy things a program can do that are not against NCAA rules like have a "friend of the program" offer jobs or sub-market housing to relatives of the player.

Duke does this.

UNC does this.

AFAIK Clemson does not do this, most likely because the coach doesn't it or because basketball does not have "friends of the program" that are willing to help.

If we did this, we might get some higher rated players.

We are not UNC. We are not Duke. Count on getting caught, punished, and having the school's reputation tarnished.
