There is only one way to fix this.

1. Recruit some more players from Maine
2. Completely forget about your home state that produces some of the best talent in the country
3. Slap bunts
4. More slap bunts

We lost the strikeout battle again. In the 3 games against VA we struck out 18, 12, and 12 times. I am sure they have good pitching but that is over half a game worth of strikeouts on average which is crazy. We need to put the ball in play, find someone who will do that and we will win close games.

Not sure what that will take, but Legget better get on the ball. I don't think anyone expected this team to start out 0-3 in conference.

But this won't be one of them.

Friday's game was ugly, no doubt.

But Saturday and Sunday...we lost each game by a run, and errors played a big part. You can't lay that at the feet of the coaches.

Sometimes, in every sport, players execute. Sometimes they don't. When they don't, you can't immediately run to torch the coaching staff.

It's definitely not the start to the season that I expected...but that doesn't mean you burn the house down either.
