Remember when the Pan American games were a big deal?

Ted Turner tried to create something similar called the World Games as competition tot he Pan Am games and the Olympics. Of course TBS carried them back then.

Well, thr Pan Am games are taking place in Lima Peru right now, being broadcast on ESPNU.

Thing is, you don't see anything in the media about them, either in print or on the air. I guess what people are interested in in sports has just changed.

All I remember is that time my father bought me Pan Am stock as my Christmas gift. That didn't go well.

But the space shuttle in “2001: A Space Odyssey” was Pan Am.
It’ll all work out.
