Interesting. Jimbo was better than Bobby Bowden

at FSU despite all of the success Bowden had in the 90's Jimbo was there for 8 years which is a large enough sample size to make a judgement. Jimbo had a higher winning percentage than Bowden, and if you want to 'extrapolate' Jimbo would have 4 national championships in 32 years vs 2 for Bobby

there's a reason BB was there 32 seasons and jimbo was there 8.. and, it cause A&M came calling... jimbo was on his way out.. BB had the noles in the top 5 like 10 years in a row.. or something like that.. no way you can compare what jimbo did to what BB did.. at least that's my opinion.

You see all these praises for Spurrier. He was 5-8-1 against BB. Never won in Tallahassee. I hate FSU but BB was great coach. Would play anyone anywhere.

14 Seasons - 14 seasons in a row in the top 5 and 10+ win seasons.... from 87 to '01. That is longer by 505 for Jimbo's career.
If the "playoff" existed back then, he would have likely had 3-6 Nattys.

interesting but nope. % is tough when you are comparing a coaching history of 30y+ vs 9y. Bowden has 304 wins vs 246 of all other FSU coaches combined.
Bowden built that program. Period. End of discussion. While Jimbo did well enough, has a high but small sample size for a coach's record. Jimbo did not develop a unknown, occasionally ok team into something that dominated a major conference for a decade. His "dominance" lasted 3 years. Furthermore, Jimbo saw the writing on the wall with the rise of Dabo... a younger better coach was going to be his hurdle so might as well jump to A&M where his "rival" only has a few years left. Bowden might be the GOAT, including Saban/Bryant or even Spurrier (yes, Spurrier is often in my top 3... he won at Duke!). My guess is that Jimbo is waiting on Saban's doorstep to pull a Bryant.
Jimbo would not and can not win another one. One hit wonder with Winston. I call him the Joey Flacco of coaches. Bowden never lost a program like Jimbo did.

Spurrier is not even the best coach in Duke's history--that would Wallace Wade, as in the one that the football stadium is named after.
6 Conference Championships at Duke 2 Rose Bowls at Duke. 5 overall 0.781 Conference mark at Duke 0.741 Overall record at Duke 0.765 Overall record all teams Top 25 all-time winning % for major college football. 1 losing season in 16 years
Spurrier at Duke was 0.548 in Conference and .603 overall with 1 conference championship. 1 losing season in 3 years.
If you want to include time outside of Duke, WW had 3 national championships and SS had 1

I'm pretty sure that after Saturday everyone associated with FSU is wishing they had one of those coaches back
Hint...It's not Jimbo that they want.
