Show and Tell
Just before head coach Dabo Swinney ended his pre-fall camp press conference last Tuesday afternoon in the WestZone, he told the assembled media that he was relaxing his rules on practice for a few days – the media could watch entire practices for the first week. That's not news but it sure is a good read. It's a reflection of how most Tigers feel about this fine group. I'm delighted with our coaching staff too.

Yep, and the best thing about talent, the more talent they have coming in. It makes the learning curve so much easier and much shorter. The freshman talent that Clemson is able to bring in with this coaching staff, are looking like RS freshman talent of the past just coming in. HS coaching is getting much better, and that is turning out better true freshman performance than in years past!!!

Of course we always want to go undefeated but imo, that just sets us up for disappointment. I honestly think we have enough talent at every position besides Oline to beat anyone in the country. As soon as the offensive line catches up with everyone else, we can start talking about 12-0 but the experience at offensive line just isn't there yet.

That's exactly why (in spite of the selective memory of most fans) almost every season in the 1980s was actually considered a disappointment at the time.
Following the magical 1981 season, with as much talent and coaching as we had, we still routinely lost games to a couple of teams each with equal or less talent.
It just illustrates how incredibly hard it is to go undefeated even if you have great players and great coaches.
Going undefeated this year would be a minor miracle, but losing a game or two will still be considered a disappointment ,,,
