Clemson and Alabama ties run deep, stretch back decades

The ties between Clemson and Alabama are strong and stretch back decades, making Monday’s matchup between the two schools even more intriguing. Former Clemson head coach Danny Ford played at Alabama and won a national championship for Clemson. Head coach Dabo Swinney played at Alabama and hopes to win a title with the Tigers when the teams meet Monday at the University of Phoenix Stadium in the College Football Playoff National Championship. Lots of old school bama mojo lining up there with orange and tiger paws. You can almost see Bear Bryant looking down on them with an orange hound's tooth hat on. Think about how out of place Nick Saban would look in that array.

We need to wear his "business as usual" rear end out.

dabo looks like he's in a british band from the 80s in that

Coach Stallings, always has a tie on. He looks great in orange.

I am kind of concerned when Saban hangs it up in Alabama. They are going to throw a lot of cash at Dabo.

Won't be about the cash

Clemson will be willing to match.

Especially if they throw it at him.

Lived in Columbia and sold cokes at the home games and 4 straight "Big Thursday's". My Dad and 2 brothers graduated from USC. My Dad passed away(at 93) in Feb this year......I can come out of the closet. GO TIGERS

There are closet Clemson fans in Alabama. But I can tell you this; this Tiger stuck in Huntsville ain't quiet at all.

Go Tigers!!!

He pulls for Texas A&M. In this game, I'll bet he has mixed feelings wanting both his pupil and friend to win and his former team to do well, also.

missed biggest one, Frank Howard and Bear Bryant

Frank Howard and Bear Bryant were roommates at Alabama. just the two most iconic coaches in the history of each school but yeah, let's talk assistants.

Coach Howard also played at Alabama and was from Barlow Bend, AL. We played Bama twice when he coached and couldn't beat them. The time is right. The Tide will go down Monday evening.
