New Ford truck listed at $32.6K

Oct 30, 2020, 1:10 PM

What are chances of getting it for $29k OTD?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NEW new? Or new to U

Oct 30, 2020, 1:12 PM

New new it's pretty much your truck, 2020***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Depends on quite a bit.

Oct 30, 2020, 1:14 PM

Is the MSRP $54k? Chances are slim.

Is the MSRP $33k? Chances are good.

Is that an advertised discount price where you read the fine print and find it includes every discount Ford offers including military, teacher, first time grad, and Inuit Eskimo loyalty? If so, you won't even get it for $32.6k.

MSRP $44,090

Oct 30, 2020, 1:18 PM

I bought Gmc new, 2 yrs ago. Maybe I was OTD $2k below sale price with all those discounts??

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Depends on the dealership type too, butt I'd venture to say

Oct 30, 2020, 1:25 PM

$33K is a steal if MSRP is 44. Take that and run out the door. I think I got mine at around 37-38 all in with the mega 10 year warranty.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

$12k is a good discount on a $50k+ F150 with a little more

Oct 30, 2020, 1:27 PM [ in reply to MSRP $44,090 ]

room to wiggle. It's hella strong on a $44k one. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I think it's a bit ambitious to expect $15k off sticker....thinking you might get another K off at best.

If you go to the big F150 forum there's a "prices paid" section where you can get an idea of what's feasible. I spent wayyyyy too much time on it when I bought mine, but it paid off.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It says dealer discount is $11,400

Oct 30, 2020, 1:39 PM

And that gets it to $32.6.

There are others you speak of, student $500, farm bureau (me) $500, military $500, etc.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

While nuthin in the car world is ever 100% (other than

Oct 30, 2020, 1:45 PM

them seeking more of your money than you wish to give them), that would just amaze me if that were solely the dealer contribution before any discounts.

HOWEVER, it is October and the 2021's represented a remodel year, so Ford could have put a crapton of trunk money on these to help move the remaining 2020's, so anything is possible.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dealer discount on my last purchase was similar

Oct 30, 2020, 1:49 PM

It was over $40k, OTD for 30,500 I think? Not exactly sure but it was close and it was in March

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's what I'm saying.

Oct 30, 2020, 1:51 PM

These days you can screw up and get $10k off a truck.

I'm also saying that you're in rare air when you get much past 12-12.5k off. Not impossible, just rare. You're talking $15k.

You pull that off and I'll send you $500 per car to negotiate all my future car purchases.

One other thing McLovin....

Oct 30, 2020, 1:59 PM

Even if they don't have those $500 here, $500 there discounts you mentioned in the price, there probably is a pretty substantial discount, like $1250-1500 that depends on you financing the truck through Ford Motor Credit.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sure and they generally have "flex" cash where they can

Oct 30, 2020, 2:01 PM

find a grand or two, maybe more at month end.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

that's the "trunk money" I referenced earlier.

Oct 30, 2020, 6:46 PM

The more industry terms like that you can use with em the less they eff with you.

The thing about trunk money is it's not ever advertised so they can give it all away or keep it all if they want. If it's the end of the month and you're at a volume dealer looking to move a few additional units to gain another percent on their monthly holdback, they'll do whatever they have to do.

I've found it's really helpful when you show up and trash

Oct 30, 2020, 1:29 PM

talk the truck and tell them everything you hate about it. Color sucks, rims suck, you're a Chevy guy anyway, etc. They'll be so sympathetic they'll drop the price to whatever makes you feel comfortable. Works every time, too.

say no they can't go that low say ok bye and walk out. You will get a call about 1 minute down the road saying that the manager approved it

Couple other things

They are just trying to get you in the showroom....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

hmm...interesting. But what if I
