True story. My daughter in law lived in Nevada most of the year and moved to Alaska a few months back. Voted in NV with an absentee ballot (from AK). She got a call yesterday by an investigator asking her about it. It was an easy explanation, so no problems for her.

I am surprised someone would be digging that deep.

IF you move to another state for work, and express intent to eventually move back, you can still vote provided you were in that state for more than 184 days that year. At least that is the law in Florida.

She's military and they have different rules with respect to residency since they move around frequently. Plenty of military people vote in a state where they do not currently live.
