Need to be educated here

Mar 7, 2020, 12:44 AM

Went to my first basketball game tonight.. always make it a point to get down to one a year from NC.
My question is, what is BB doing wrong? Is he simply coaching to his players capabilities? All I know is that we seem to launch a ton of threes a game and we score well in transition. We win when we do well in both, but we can’t seem to score in set offensive plays unless we can hit the three-ball. Do we simply not have the talent to score inside the paint, or does BB just struggle in play calling and the ability to make adjustments on the offensive end, therefore simply relying on threes and transition ball?

Frustrated on how the regular season ended, after some big wins, was hoping we could miraculously make a run to the NCAA’s, but obviously laid an egg.

Still heading to Greensboro Wednesday because tickets will be cheap for the first two rounds and I have a Marriott voucher I have to use up for a free hotel by beginning of April, and I still have some hope

I'll start with fundamentals.
1) They need to practice passing and inbound passing.
2) Recognize when Trapp goes 1-ll in shooting he should be benched.
3) We need a deeper bench. More bench rotation. Not just one or two people rotation.

We actually play a lot of guys off the bench...

The question is which guys should play more...

Typically, Curran Scott (who finally had a really good game yesterday), is one of the first guys off the bench. He is scrappy and tries hard...but until yesterday he wasn’t able to put the ball in the basket.
Tyson usually is next, but was basically ‘MIA’ yesterday...not sure why he wasn’t out there....did he injure himself?
Then comes Jemison...particularly if Simms has foul trouble.
Then Hemenway comes in...I think he should be first off the bench. Still working on defense..but is legit shooting threat.
Then Kavon Moore comes in to relieve Newman typically. Solid defender...very raw offensively, it seems.

That’s 10 guys playing.
I think it’s a question of rotation timing, matchups, etc.
You are correct that there are times to bench certain players, unfortunately some games it’s more than a few.

The one thing we’ve seen the last 2 games is that when Simms sits with 2 first half fouls...it gets ugly quick on offense.
