Need Software Suggestions

I am looking for Free or Cheap software to run an internal signage system that will show announcements, weather, maybe a scroll running across the bottom, and perhaps a PowerPoint in a section of the screen. This will be run on a computer that will display on 55" monitors throughout a school. If you have suggestions please post. Thanks.
