I can see a situation where spring practice starts and the other conferences are forced to forfeit their “postponed” seasons in order to stay on NCAA schedule. I could then see schools bringing litigation against their conferences for separation without exit $$ penalties. This could then set up a major realignment into 4 main conferences/divisions that then allows for an NFL/MLB type playoff.
This would be a great(and fair) way to play out a season. Currently I can’t stand this committee crap. Way too easy to corrupt the system.
...is a dumb idea and won't ever happen. They'll talk about, but it will never happen. If football isn't played this fall, it won't be played at all until the fall of 2021 (at the earliest).
I think you're right about conference alignment though... talks are going to start happening earlier than anybody originally expected.
