Here is the text of the bill. Notice it is not a one issue bill. There are other sections in the law designed to deny equal protections and to supersede or deny any protections established by any municipality in the state.

The 14th Amendment was enacted to thwart any return of slavery and was passed at a time when every state in the union had anti-sodomy laws so I find its application in this situation useless. Why shouldn't the state of NC be able to tell its political subdivisions what they can and can't do?

US Citizens. Prior cases have established that laws that target "a certain class of citizens" (that were also, for some odd reason ;) , passed outside of the normal decision process) are in violation of the 14th amendment..

an easy drive and the trip is cheap. We were just down there last weekend for a tournament. But I'm sick of the ACC punishing states (ala South Carolina prior to this) for something that doesn't have anything to do with athletics.

a problem where none existed . The law in Charlotte was promoted by a convicted pedophile . That should tell you all you need to know . They created an issue that was to aide .005% of the population.

I was going to the game. As others have said it would have been cheap especially with ticket prices under 10 bucks. However if they lose money then perhaps they'll return to Charlotte.
