We have two goldens right now. A red-golden named Rosa Maria and a white golen boy named Robert Douglas. We call him Doug from the movie 'Up' but we were going to call him Bob. True story. We thought it would be hilarious to have a dog named Bob. That is where Robert Douglas comse from though.

Our goldens were named

|
|
Sam, Scout, and Duke. All male. So there's that.
Our current female dogs are a mutt named Lucy (Mrs No's pick) and a black lab named Bailey (my pick).
All that aside, I suggest Wiggle Worm, which I've called all our female dogs. Or Love Puppy, which is so appropriate for any golden. Nala is,like, so bland, but whatever.

name her Dahlonega

which is the Cherokee word for "gold"......you could call her Dolly for short. Or, find a name in a language from your family's heritage, Irish, Spanish, or maybe another tribal language that relates to her. It's different and makes her special.
I am part Cherokee, so I named one of my dogs "Tsula" (pronounced "choo-la") which is the Cherokee word for fox - she looks just like a fox to me, so it fit. I get lots of great comments about that name, even moreso after I explain it.

She died a little over a year ago, we had to put her down
Apr 29, 2013, 10:23 AM

at 6 years old from cancer. Had her spleen removed, but the cancer was in her bloodstream and it was only a matter of time. It REALLY sucked. I still get choked up thinking about her.
We got this guy, Charlie, a little later. We are a two dog family, and will ALWAYS be a two dog family. Our daughter absolutely loves dogs too. Cancer is bad in the Goldens though...
