Best player in the stadium? Absolutely. In the country? Just maybe

Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins was making plays all over the field Saturday against Virginia, notching a 96-yard touchdown reception and continuing his assault on the Clemson record book, leading one NFL scout to say Watkins might be the best player in the country. Full Story »

So which team is this scout affiliated with??***

Probably Cleveland.***

Probably. Not sure how I feel about that, but my best friend

is a die-hard Browns fan (I'm talking insane). It would be nice to have a legit connection to Cleveland again (until they run him into the grave)

Your best friend must be GWPTiger because there probably

Cleveland fan, but then again, the insane part might explain it.

No, he couldn't care less about Clemson - strictly pro guy

I've met a few people from Cleveland and they're all pretty close to how he is. I must admit, I have to admire how loyal and optimistic he/they are, after just continuous years of failure. For him, a .500 year is a huge success - a dream, whereas for us, we'd be calling for everyone's head.

Hmm Cleveland Browns fans sound a lot like

OMG, the "coots" thing again. How old, stale, outworn, and outdated. Give it a rest.

Well, kinda but not really.

Both root for (historically) bad performing teams but Cleveland fans of all sports will openly admit their team isn't very good and are pretty level headed about where their team stacks up.

Sweet, then I may actually go to a Browns game.***

Not even in the conversation for the Heisman.

Receivers rarely are

Only 2 wideouts have ever won it, and the last was Desmond Howard. They might as well just admit the award is for the best QB or RB

Wait...I thought Clowney was, that's right he's sucking it up this year!!! :)

NFL scout

NFL scouts really aren't supposed to talk to the media about things like this, and talking about juniors is a big no no. So out of respect for him actually taking the time to talk to me and share his thoughts, I can't put his name or organization. Getting one of them to even open up was something that doesn't happen often, so I can't throw him under the bus.

True, but I don't think hints are frowned upon...

If it's Cleveland, just wink twice.

If it's Cleveland, maybe Sammy will come back for

another year.

Cleveland ended James Davis' career before it started

I'm not familiar. Can you elaborate?

lol...Here is a hint. It wasn't Cleveland!! In fact, I have only seen one Browns scout all year, and that was at the Georgia game

I hope it's not Jacksonville, unless they'll let Sammy

Probably Minnesota since they have 3 QB's and no WR's***

I would love to see Sammy in Atlanta-Falcons could trade Roddy White-what a duo of receivers that would be-Julio and Sammy!

Will Dabo tell Sammy (like Nuk) he's better off returning?***

Posted: Nov 5, 2013 12:27 PM

Sammy is a sure fire 1st round pick by all scouts

Posted: Nov 5, 2013 12:43 PM

Nuk wasn't by a few people. His speed was said to be something that would make him fall to the second round or maybe the late first at best.

And Nuk's speed was expected to improve by senior year?***

given where they were probably Baltimore or Washington***

What I want to know

Was Sammy wide open on that play?

Can't be good for TB's draft status if an nfl scout doesn't think he is covering his bases

Sammy's first possession

in Death Valley, resulting in an amazing touchdown, will be remembered for a long time. Look forward to following his NFL career...selfishly wish he could stay another year!

Steelers?

Posted: Nov 5, 2013 1:25 PM

Someone with a high pick but not one extremely desperate for a QB. It's not going to be Jax, TB, Minn, etc.

If i were the Giants i would probably try to get Clowney to reestablish the pass rush that my team has been built around a known for over the last decade.

The Steelers have a lot of issues right now (most teams with that high of a draft pick do), including their defense, but they really need some weapons for Ben.

Maybe not. The Steelers will probably go for D. That's
