Yeah, but definitely need the context of how many of each star rating there are. Undoubtedly, the "stars" don't matter guy will come out of the woodwork claiming that they don't matter, LOL.

The breakdown for % of prospects in each star category

Apr 28, 2017, 4:23 PM

according to an article. Data was for 2017 class and 247 ratings.

5 star- .92%
4 star - 8.55%
3 star - 50.93%
2 star or less - 39.5%

5 star players making up nearly 1/3 of the 1st round is incredible considering less than 1% of all prospects get the 5 star distinction.

Those star ratings matter.

Keep listening to the Chickens when they say "star ratings don't matter."

Adam Humphries, Hunter Renfrow, Grady Jarrett, those guys are the exception, not the rule. 4 and 5 star talent that performs like 4 and 5 star talent will beat the overachieving 2 and 3 stars 9 times out of 10. (That 1 out of 10 being any time Renfrow plays Alabama.) There's a reason rankings exist and a reason why high star ratings out of HS usually correlate with high draft picks.
