Good...but I don't trust the NCAA to enforce this. They're scared to death of any lawsuits and their first inclination is to give in. I expect the transfer issue to become even bigger.

Full of sound and fury signifying nothing.

I have mixed feelings on this topic. I think the players

deserve to be able to transfer without restrictions, but I also think that too many transfers is probably bad for CFB.

The current waiver process is ridiculous though. The players hire a lawyer and make up some bogus reason for wanting the waiver that maybe has a shred of truth to it but is certainly not the reason they are transferring, and then the NCAA makes arbitrary decisions on a case to case basis with no consistency or precedence.

The ones that seemed to have a good case at immediate eligibility (Luke Ford, the VT OL) have been denied and the very obvious ones (Fields, Martell) have been granted. So the current enforcement is suspect at best.

But this new tweak to the rule is total garbage. If a player wants to transfer, let them. Coaches can jump from job to job without penalty. I think you get 1 transfer with immediate eligibility no questions asked and after that you have to sit out. Classic and unsurprising move from the clowns at the NCAA

If players can transfer immediately and play, then:
1) Recruiting never ends. Coaches will recruit players from other schools.
2) A position unit that doesn't like their coach yelling at them can leave en masse. That'd leave a big hole on a team that the coach could immediately replace.

You sign with a school, not a coach. I'm okay with senior grad transfers and some hardship transfers. Other than that, if you don't like your playing time, get better or sit a year.
