How we can have a better conference record, beat them by 17 (Seventeen) points and they go to the tourney???? I'm not saying we should have been a lock in but, Cccccmmmmmooonnn

with us, having a worse conference record, and one less win overall and getting a #1 seed in the NIT while we are a 3. I will be Florida Gulf Coast's biggest fan in that first game - the heck with conference loyalty.

SMU was left out b/c of metrics.... NCST had a better ROI and SOS. It's clear metrics were a big facor, so it makes sense.

NC State will lose the play in game anyway. It's essentially a home game for Xavier.

Ok I grew up a huge clemson fan and now go to NC State because tuition costs. But let me defend my school for a scond. NC State is simply, in my opinion warming up at the right time, its a combination of beating syracuse, having the ACC player of the year, and coach K promoting us, that got us into the tournament. We made it to the semis of the conference tournament outlasting the bubble teams like florida state and clemson that we were ultimately competing with, which was also a huge factor this year. Im not saying we are gonna win the tournament but I think NC State has a good shot at getting to the sweet 16. Love Clemson, love the wolfpack, hope you guys pull for us.

I can't speak for the rest of the board, but I personally hope N.C. State gets rolled by 50!!! They DON'T belong in the NCAA when they got beat by 17 by CLEMSON!!!!!!

We had 1-top 50 win, 4-top 100 wins, and 3 losses to teams

outside of the top 100. We also only were just 6-9 in road/neutral games.
NC State, meanwhile, had 3-top 50 wins, 6-top 100 wins, and just 1 loss to a team outside of the top-100. They were also 8-7 in road/neutral games.
There's also the computer numbers:
NC State: RPI 55 SOS 33
Clemson: RPI 79 SOS 91
The only sad part of this is that, had we beaten Duke, the semifinal vs NC State, in all likelihood, would have been for that 6th ACC spot in the Tournament.

This is the reason the Chairman of the selection committee gave:
"Wellman said the last team in the field was NC State, which beat Syracuse in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament but lost to Duke on a late-possession game. He said the last four teams that the Wolfpack beat out for that spot were SMU, Florida State, Georgetown and Green Bay.
Wellman said NC State getting three road wins against top 50 teams was a deciding factor.
"That attracts the attention of the committee,'' said Wellman. "NC State took their game on the road and beat three top 50 teams.'"

The last time NC State was within a single possession of Duke was with 15:12 left in the 2nd half...

first few games - like losses to Auburn and UMass. Wake Forest improved too and beat some other good teams at home near end of season, so that should not count against us. Just think if Nnoko had been at UVA game and McDaniel had not been injured - we would be at about 24 and 6 rated High Ncaa's - sad! And no rationale can convince me that Ncstate should be ranked ahead of us!
