My latest top 10 rankings
Dec 1, 2019, 1:29 PM
|
|
1. LSU (+1) 2. Ohio State (-1) 3. Clemson (same) 4. UGA (same) 5. Oklahoma (same) 6. Baylor (same) 7. Utah (+2) 8. Florida (new) 9. Wisconsin (new) 10. Penn State (same)
Dropped out: Bama, Minnesota
(Most overrated:UGA) (Most underrated: Clemson) (Most ignored by everyone else: Baylor)
Utah is at 7 because they have no impressive wins. UGA and Oklahoma do. To me that’s the end of the debate there. Baylor is ahead because they have a better loss.
1. Record 2. Elite wins 3. Bad losses

Agreed about Baylor but they’ve had their stink games too. Have to put utes in 4th. I believe usc would stomp the imposter usuck. Also didn’t realize utes qb and #1 wr target were out of the game for the usc loss. That’s why I’d have them at 4...

So you think UGA will beat LSU ? I don’t see it happening.

I'd have Utah at fourth.
They may or may not get past Oregon - who is underrated, by the way; the Ducks are Top-25 in both O and D, the only team other than Clemson, Ohio State, and Utah who can say that - while Oklahoma is #1 in offense but just 26th (and seems worse in key games) in Total D, while Baylor isn't even Top-25 in either (the Bears are 33rd in offense, 39th in D) and are kind of the definition of overachieving.
Utah's D is right behind OSU/Clemson at #3 - they allow just 241.6ypg to Clemson's 232.8 - and they're flat-out savage on the lines of scrimmage. They're also 25th in offense and they do it the Very Hard way - pounding you over the head and running straight ahead at you.
I actually think Utah could be a spoiler against power-running squads like OSU or Georgia; in the rock-paper-scissors matchup they own the edge in physicality on either.
Of course, in the rock-paper-scissors matchup Oregon has the edge in skills guys on them, so I think it's a coin flip Utah actually wins the Pac-12. But if the Utes do they could give OSU a serious battle.

Utes a top 25ish offense - top 5 D.
Actually it may should be Clemson, OSU, Utah, LSU
We'll see what LSU does against a legit Defense next week. - UGA will NOT win, just curious how well LSU plays

Utah has not proven they can beat a good team. UGA has.

And putting Utah ahead of LSU is not based on rational thought. There is no justification for that on any level.

Yeah. I think Clemson’s lack of strength of schedule

causes us to be the most unappreciated team. The gap between #2 and #3 is huge when it comes to national perception.

Man, I just don’t see it that way. I don’t agree with Dabo going off on the media, and I don’t agree that anyone is disrespecting Clemson in the rankings. The media just has a little Clemson fatigue. It Happens to all dominant teams. And as far as the rankings go, how in the world could you possibly justify outing Clemson ahead of OSU or LSU right now? You can’t. They are just as dominant, and have been against much better competition. That’s not disrespecting Clemson, it’s rewarding those two teams. Just the way I see it. Everyone knows how good Clemson. I hear almost no one in person or in the media saying Clemson isn’t good, in fact they are consistently grouped in with the “top three” as in, the top three are in their own league.
