What he said about not losing to CLemson was true back 3 or 4 dead ND coaches ago. He might want to get into the 21st century though. They darn sure wont get into the ACC with us. Way to tough a gig. They need service academies to beat up on to look like they are good

He should have stayed at Cincinnati where he had a chance of winning a conference championship. ND got what they deserved. Anyone that arrogant shouldn't be allowed in public must less coaching.

50 years ago they were relevant. Today not so much.
Also, when was their last win against Clemson? I think it was 1978. I may be wrong on the year, but it HAS BEEN A LONG TIME.

My freshman year at Clemson, 1977. Clemson led

17-7 in the 4th quarter. We fumbled the ball (Steve Fuller) around mid field with less than 10 minutes to go. We lost 21-17. ND had Joe Montana at QB, and they finished #1 in the polls.
We dominated in total offense, totally out gaining ND. We fumbled the ball two times in the first half inside the ND 15 yard line.
We beat them at South Bend in 1979, at Death Valley in 2015, and we punished them in the playoffs in 2018. So, we are on a 3-0 run against ND, with only one of those games at Death Valley

Did you remember the something like 3rd and 35 in that game and Montana completed a first down pass to their big tight end (Irish name I can't remember). You may also recall that when Fuller fumbled (maybe on an exchange .... don't remember) I think it was closer to the ND 30 and we were driving.

That was my sophomore year. I was at that game. We totally dominated them. I think Tim Brown was their tight end. I believe he won the Heisman that year.

I never have liked ND. I am currently in my 70's, and when I was a kid growing up in the 1950's, there was only one college football game on TV each and every Saturday. That college game was always ND. I can still remember telling my father that I do not think it was fair to only have ND on each & every week.
