Emailed DRad regarding the status of the SC game being in limbo

Jul 10, 2020, 5:36 PM

this was his response, verbatim:

Thank you Derrick for the email and your thoughts. Please know we will ( as will UofSC) do everything in our power to play this important rivalry game. Thanks again!

Dan Radakovich

Director of Athletics

Clemson University

So if there is no Palmetto Bowl, then (based on this answer) it won't for a lack of effort from the leadership at Clemson or South Carolina because they know how much the game means for the fanbases.

There are 14 ACC schools and Clemson has 1 vote and South Carolina has no vote. It would be ashamed to have an * on the history of the Clemson-South Carolina series but that is a small part of the big decisions that will be made.

My biggest point of contention is...

Jul 10, 2020, 8:28 PM

Clemson to Columbia: 113 miles
Clemson to Pittsburgh PA: 427 miles
Clemson to Chestnut Hill MA: 821 miles
Clemson to Syracuse, NY: 679 miles

Also,
Tallahassee FL to Gainesville FL: 129 miles
Atlanta GA to Athens GA: 60 miles
Louisville KY to Lexington KY: 70 miles

So a logistics standpoint, among others, would be alot easier to manage the travel, protocols, etc of teams having to travel less than 150 miles than 400+
