time. We talk as I slightly ignore him and continue to read TNET when he says something that catches my attention. He questions me and says, "Do you think Clemson would have won their last two Nattys if they had played in the SEC?" "Sure", I started, "We beat the best the SEC had to offer. So why not"?

You should have replied, "apparently we would because even while having a down year this season and struggling to win some games we are still a Vegas favorite over an LSU team who walked through the SEC this year".
I'm guessing he wouldn't have a response to that.

Not so fast there MyFO. Now that your not talking to a coot, we can discuss logically.
IF we’re in the SEC, we would be beating those over rated clowns by 30 points. Then, the world would see - and say - how weak that conference is. Thus, teams from the BIG, the PAC 12 and the Big 12 would have made the CFP.
Thus, winning would have been more diffic.... errrr ...... ummmm...... never mind!
Yes, we would’ve beaten them all like a drum, too.
