My 2cents, As an alumni

Apr 13, 2016, 12:25 PM

I think it's a pure money grab situation. It's mind boggling that from the HUGE conference agreement payout each year that was inked several years back-over where we were 10 years ago, that we have to charge student to get even more money for athletics. It is what it is, though.

5 years down the road , recent alumns drowning in student loan debt will all agree that 225$ was a small price to pay.

I could be wrong....but I'd heard that most all schools do this and we were one of the few or last not doing it. And also that our price is less than many others as well.

once again there's a reason for this

Apr 13, 2016, 2:11 PM

Clemson has the unique advantage of having a small student base and a huge stadium. We do not have 40k students like a Big ten school . Those schools just charge students in a way to reduce the amount of students who go because there's no way their stadiums would hold all students

Just raise tuition $225 and finance it w/ student loans

Seriously, keep the tickets free by raising tuition. Nobody will every know and you avoid all this public backlash. Problem solved.

Is there a student activity fee at Clemson. OR a student Athletic fee?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There is an activity fee and it has nothing to do with official CU sports

Apr 13, 2016, 1:58 PM

It is for fike, intramural, and other activities.

Completely independent of official sports.

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

The reason I asked is that my daughter attended THe university of South Alabama when they started their football program and they hit us with a 200 per semester athletic fee just for football. so 225 for tickets to Clemson games is a bargain

Re: My 2cents, As an alumni-if U were a student

Apr 13, 2016, 12:58 PM

you'd have to come up with another $224.98

Are you truly an "alumni"? A double personality perhaps?

ClemTigs

Well, that would make him an "us".
