All of the States in play have

Nov 5, 2020, 9:44 AM

Democrat Governors. That is interesting. Or just another example of Democrats’ inability to lead. Why are Democrat run states always having issues that have National implications?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What issues are they having that other states aren't?

Nov 5, 2020, 9:46 AM

Every state is still counting votes. It just only matters in the states that are close.

Not get the votes counted on time. That would be the most critical. Secretary of State’s that seem dumbfounded on why ballots are being “found”. Videos of poll workers throwing away ballots.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nov 5, 2020, 9:56 AM

What is the typical rate of counting absentee ballots, and are they going at a slower rate this year?

That's what is happening. Some people appear not to like it because they think they're entitled to know the winner by some artificial deadline.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

November 3rd is the deadline to cast your ballot

Nov 5, 2020, 10:40 AM

what else do you need to know?

It shouldnt take two days to count ballots, especially when a lot of states were able to count absentee ballots early.

There just is no excuse this day in age to have this long of delays.

I see a whole lot about "finding" votes...

Nov 5, 2020, 10:47 AM [ in reply to There isn't an issue with that. ]

like these are votes kept in a storage container. The votes that are being found are legitimate votes, at least looking from the outside in.

I could also get into whole other conversation about mail-in voting. If we are going to make it a ubiquitous option, we need to make sure to follow directions. Poll workers helping people cure their votes is not acceptable.

I have a problem with mail-in voting, but those were the rules, so we must abide by them.

We have set a precedent that has altered our election process forever.

Re: Ummmm

Nov 5, 2020, 10:06 AM [ in reply to Ummmm ]

Manac,

Please link to the videos to which you are referring.

Ballots are NOT being found they are being counted. It is more time consuming to count mail-in and early ballots than it is to download data from the machines used in day-of voting.

To give us all some idea of how overloaded some of these processes are, I stumbled across this amazing little paragraph about voting in North Carolina.

But the greatest factor in the state’s 2020 voting is the unprecedented level of voter participation. Turnout topped 74% of registered voters, with 5.4 million ballots cast. Of those, 4.5 million came before Election Day: roughly 3.6 million through one-stop early voting and more than 950,000 by mail. That leaves less than 900,000 votes actually cast at the polls on Tuesday.
