Spent about 40 minutes with Monte Lee this morning and it just reiterated what we kind of already knew...he seems like a great hire. We are gonna run a series of stories next week detailing our conversation but here are some little things people have been asking....
Yes, Omaha will stay on the hats
Uniforms - he is a traditionalist and loves the Clemson look. He said, "I am not a fashion designer. I am a baseball coach. Clemson's uniforms are unique and everybody recognizes the "Clemson pants. I can't imagine changing too much."
He's spent time with Dabo and says he was impressed.
New pitching coach - Andrew See - should hear an announcement on Tuesday.
Volunteer coach looks like it will be Greg Starbuck from Elon.

He will be compensated, there is no doubt about that. He will be full time as well. It's all semantics...you can only have two full time guys on staff but there are always the extra one or two guys that fall under different categories.

Judging from our conversations, he just wants to make this an aggressive baseball program - at the plate and in the field and pitching. We've seen a lot of called third strikes in big situations around here, and I think he is a guy that will tell his team to grip it and rip it. He wants to attack and not sit back and wait for something good to happen

I know this question was directed to David, but from listening to his other interviews I think it is evident the changes will be like night and day from JL. He will drive and push the guys hard at the beginning of the practice season and then when they start playing games, he will allow them to loosen up and have fun. He is a motivator...he is connected to the fans...he knows how to locate good players and evaluate their potential and he recruits hard and successfully...he definitely knows how to coach up players... He has already added a lot of excitement to the fan base to the point the fans, including myself, are very excited about baseball next year. Even though we should have a down year, I do not believe it will happen....That is why I am excited. This guys gets it and will fit in very nicely. He has also stated that he plans to stay until he retires. Success then security.

Are you IBeWriteGood? What ever happened to that guy? Your manner is one and the same as his use to be. A know it all, internet bully. It's probably why your "pulse" (i use that word very loosely) fails to reach the 100% level like the people you seek to emulate. It's kind of sad. You and I actually agree on some things, but the hair on the back of your neck snatches at your mind and keeps you from thinking clearly.
I'm glad you're a Tiger though. Whatever happened to us being here in support of the Clemson Tigers? That is what it's about. Nor politics, nor race, nor religion, nor whatever. We are Tigers sir.
