The AJC also "hopes" UGA has another shot at RN.

Here's the truth of it. Clemson is trying to go into Georgia

and get 2 of the best recruits to come out of that state in a long time. The Georgia people (UGA and the media) do not like the implications of Clemson, an ACC team, coming into SEC territory and grabbing 2 major play makers. It is going to be a battle to hold on to 1 or both. If we can then we secure the defensive side of our football team for the near future with top=flight talent.

AJC only sides with SEC football--Clemson would upset the apple cart in terms of that. JMHO.

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Atlanta media, AJC and sports radio view Clemson...

as the turd in the punch bowl. We are a nuisance to them. We come in and take the talent that UGA needs for a title run. Good athletes are lured (unjustifiably in their opinion) to us to the detriment of UGA.

They feel similarly about Auburn. But there are SO many Auburn fans and alums in Atlanta, that they've softened on them.

And the last time we were doing this...

...which was the mid-80's, UGA cancelled the home and home series that had developed into one of the best rivalries in the nation. Vince Dooley was particularly miffed that we snagged John Johnson right out from under him. Dooley was the primary source of the rumor and innuendo about us to the NCAA in the late 80's which resulted in an investigation that led to not much (other than Ford being forced out for primarily other reasons). The Hatfield era saw us totally lose any recruiting edge in Georgia, and it is only starting to re-emerge a bit after all these years...

UGA has no hope of getting RN.

And they may as well start getting used to the fact that Adams will be a Tiger. Either AU or Clemson.
