The last thing you wanna do as a coach is go political, especially as charged as politics is nowadays. Especially ESPECIALLY when about 90% of your recruits are likely members of the opposite party.
Very much Not Smart, and rival coaches are going to beat him over the head with this. A lot.

Maybe you never had the opportunity because no one saw the potential you had to benefit their organization? People need to look out for themselves and their families first. For some, school loyalty is all it takes. For others, there are more pressing issues.
I think Gundy sounds like a snowflake.
