pretty good job tonight. Venables mixed his coverages and blitzes very well. Morris made his true freshman QB look like anything but a true freshman in a very difficult road environment against the #1 team. I also thought he did a good job personnel-wise mixing in the younger guys with the veterans, especially at RB.
I thought the team was put in an excellent position to win, but mistakes killed us. The only criticism the entire game for me, coaching-wise, was how we dealt with the 4th and 1 in overtime. I don't think you can go right up the middle against FSU after a timeout and expect to get a yard. We either needed to use tempo and catch them out of position or call something else.

I agree except the decision to play Lakip. He has proven twice he can't kick.

The second play was going to be Watson up the middle, which worked on the very next drive. That drive failed because of a bad snap, not poor play-calling.

I don't think Morris had anything to do with Watson. If anything it's like he put the handcuffs on Watson for most of the game. Should have been throwing the ball way more than we did. We tried to play it safe and it backfired.

I agree, we were much much improved over the performance against UGA and Venables called a great game.
We just have to admit this is a much more talented FSU team, but help is on the way and their is a ton of promising young talent on this roster.
This could have been a championship year for us but we have missed on too many good running backs in the last few classes and the Oline is missing a couple of key components.
The key will not be letting this loss beat us twice, because there is not another team left on our schedule we would not whip if we played like we did tonight.
