At the very end you see this little part about an obligation to the people in the stands. Glad to see someone understands this.

He not only sounds but looks like a young Frank Howard. Flip that switch.

I'm sorry I just don't understand why this is such a great hire, I don't think Vandy's offensive line was really all that great.

It's Vanderbilt, look what he had to work with, and you have to look at his body of work as a whole. The ######## came from Duke (ACC's Vandy equiv.) and he seems to be percieved as God's gift to College Football (altho that NFL thing didn't work out so well.)

NCSU had good OLs when he was their coach under #### Sheridan.

Guess I should've typed Richard Sheridan.

Might I add....

Caldwell had a lineman drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. Apparently, the pros didn't mind he was from Vanderbilt. As a reminder, that hasn't happened in Clemson in about 30 years. And his reputation as an outstanding offensive line coach doesn't hurt.

Even though I gave you a thumbs up because it's the truth, Vandy doesn't even come close to having the kind of players we recruit along the o line. I know he was the assistant HC, but did he actually coach the line as well?!

Coach Caldwell was at Furman when I was coaching at a local high school. What a great guy. He always found time to talk and help young high school assistant coaches. That is huge with me.

He's one of the "Old School" coaches. The kind that made Clemson what is was. And what it will be.
