Miami playing at Florida Atlantic tonight?? Seriously??

Sep 11, 2015, 9:04 PM

Why would Miami schedule a game at FAU? Doesn't make a lot of sense for a power program. Or a has been power program...

I understand that the two universities are located quite close to each other but still...

thing with Florida International recently. Not really sure what could possibly be the upside to traveling to these smaller schools could be for Miami. I might could see if they were in a region they were trying to get into for recruiting purposes, that's not the case here. Makes no sense.

They probably make more money and their fans still can attend close to home. No expenses of manning the game day ammenities or renting a stadium.

FAU is actually a bigger school and has a Clemson connection. The FAU President is a Clemson alumnus and former VP of CLemson.

I think it has a lot to do with Howard Snellburger, he started the FAU program and he won Miami 1st national title.

Not to mention its a really easy trip for them. My dad is at the game and it's the first time they've had this many people for a football game lol. Most Miami fans won't drive down south so it works out perfect

It is a two for one series so Miami gets two home games w/o
having to pay FAU. It probably costs Miami a large sum to rent Sun Life Stadium considering the small home attendance
they have.
