So, we were walking to the game from downtown with no tickets as usual. We saw several scalpers but none had four together. Eventually, right across the street from the Calhoun mansion, we find two guys who have four together. They’re in section UH, South Stands, about the 20 yard, and they’re asking $60 a piece. I offer $200 for four, and we settle on $220 for four or $55 a piece.
We BS around with these guys for a while, and find out they are from the ATL and travel all over the SE selling tickets. They were in Baton Rouge for the Bama game, in Jacksonville for UGA-UF, and in Athens for some games there.
How do these guys make money selling tickets for around face value? I’m sure they could get much more in Baton Rouge for Bama. Maybe Clemson Duke was the best game going last weekend and they found a few suckers to pay $100 or more.
