Headed to WHERE THE BLUE RIDGE YAWNS ITS GREATNESS

May 14, 2020, 11:49 AM

So excited to be going to God's Country tomorrow...a little place called Rocky Bottom, if anybody knows it. Visiting with the in-laws, who we haven't seen since Christmas. Boy, I have missed the Upstate!

Sorry, there is no prize, other than to know you were the first to come up with the right answer

There's a nice lookout on Sassafras Mtn. now. You ought

May 14, 2020, 12:42 PM

to drive up there while you're there.

We do that often

In fact, one time I walked from my in-laws' cabin in Rocky Bottom to the top of Sassafras and back. I just walked up the road, but it is about a 4 mile walk each way, and probably 2000 feet of elevation change.

It’s only 4 hrs from Summerville to Pickens, but it’s worlds away. My favorite place to be.

I'm in Summerville, too***

Ever been to Bob's Place?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Passed it many times, but only went in once

May 14, 2020, 8:39 PM

Not too long before it burned. It was a landmark...and an interesting place inside.

They didn’t like cameras, but did let me take a couple photos as long as they weren’t in them. LOL. Bring a camera out and they duck and cover!

That was a landmark for us. Glad I went in at least once.
