So you don't trust Dabo and his coaching staff?

Oct 24, 2018, 8:19 AM

after 10 years, ACC Championships, consistently beating SEC opponents, 2 stompings of OSU, beating ND in a rainstorm in the Valley, soon to be fear the thumb with the chickens, 3 playoff appearances and 1 National Championship?

Uttles hated Dabo from the start and still does. Just compare Dabo to Danny Ford and you will see what I am talking about. It is sad really.

Well, since I ALWAYS thought Hunter Johnson was the best at QB, I'm going to sit this one out and let everyone else argue your statement. :)

That said - looking forward to next year and watching HJ light up the Big 10.

best QB based on his rating but he didn't look special in the limited snaps that we saw in the spring game.

what is really hard to believe is that a guy that was 6-7 300 plus in high school and coached by his dad was no better than he was. huh uttles.

Re: KB should have never started at QB

If we assume that ZC had beaten out HJ early in the season as the backup because he played against Syracuse, and then look at how his performance was probably not as quality as most of KB's in the opportunities he had, it's pretty clear that KB was the ideal starter at the beginning of the year last year. The results also indicate that it might have been a solid choice - won the opener, won the division, won the state, won the conference, made the playoffs. We have been spoiled lately, but some times we need to sit back and recognize that those are fairly difficult accomplishments to achieve every year.

Cooper has apparently performed fairly well so far this year for his new team though, up until throwing 3 interceptions this last game. Sometimes college QBs don't perform up to their potential until a few years into college. Even if HJ comes out next year and is the best QB in college football, unfortunately we still won't know if he would have done the same thing in 2017.

We witnessed a really good season last year (one of Clemson's best!) with the players that played. Let's continue to remember that fondly and not disparage any of their contributions!

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Aren't you the guy that wanted to hire Paul Johnson

Re: KB should have never started at QB

Just to entertain the premise of your argument, the problem is that Kelly does not fit into the mold of any other position on the field.

WR- too slow, doesn't have breakaway 4.4 speeed
RB- too tall and slender, not the right body type
TE- would have to put on 35 pounds and learn to block

defense?

Linebacker, maybe? He'd need to put on 20 pounds and learn... well, how to play defense.

Safety? Too slow..

So I really don't know where people think he should have played outside of QB.

If Uttles had his way, we'd have Paul Johnson as coach***

Maybe. That would mean he'd have been here 13 years.

Oct 24, 2018, 4:35 PM

Which would imply that he would have been very successful here and we would have saved all that money buying out Tommy Bowden in the dumbest contract extension ever given to any coach.
