Mason Rudolph is going to be a good one at Oklahoma St.

Did he give us or SCAR a look, or was he focused on going out of state from the beginning? I could see why he would be cold on us considering the recruitment of DW4 + the stable of QBs we had at the time, but i would think SCAR would be high on his list considering the Rock Hill pipeline to Cootville.
Starts: @ Oklahoma (W/OT) - 19/35 for 273 yards. 2 TD 1 INT vs WASH (W) - 17/26 for 299 yards. 2 TD 1 INT

It was always my understanding that he was set on going out of state. Also, if I remember correctly he wasn't exactly setting the world on fire until his senior season. Most had Jacob Park ahead of Rudolph but he blew up his senior season and blistered Park and Stratford at the state finals. From people I've read about and heard in interviews the kid is a total class act and you can't help but wish him success. He would've fit in well at CU from a character and player standpoint.

According to 247 he didn't get an offer from either school

Clemson obviously didn't offer because we had Deshaun Watson coming in and told him we wouldn't bring in another QB in that class.
I think South Carolina was going hard after some out of state options and ended up striking out (I think Drew Barker was one they really wanted but he ended up staying home at Kentucky).
Interestingly enough, Jacob Park, who beat out Rudolph, Christian Miller, and Donnell Stanley for SC's Mr. Football, has already transferred from UGA and is at a JUCO now.

Played against him in high school. He was pretty good his first 3 years but he was phenomenal our senior year. His younger brother is the starter at NW now and is just as good from what I've heard/seen. Mason also had Dupree Hart at his disposal who is the best athlete I've played against/watched in high school and I'm from a 4A school in York county. Also playing against the likes of Dorman, Gaffney and Spartanburg every year yet Mason destroyed everyone. If it wasn't for Dupree's size, he'd have an offer from every big school but last I heard he's going to play baseball at CoC. He's also one of the best baseball players I've played against or watched play. Incredible athlete, wish we could've gotten him for either sport. Back to the question, from what our mutual friends have told me, OSU was a big draw for him bc of their QB situation, he wanted to get away and OSU was on him very quickly if not first

I was surprised Hart didn't get preferred walk-on offers

I figured someone would give him a shot to be a return specialist and set up some packages for him in the screen game.
NW even played him at QB a good bit last year, and he can really sling the ball for a guy his size.

From what I can tell they waited too late to offer chasing what they perceived to be bigger fish.
It was also widely rumored that he wanted to go out of state.
