Martin Aiken

Is he going to be able to stay ahead of Ferrell/Bryant? I'd like to see them RS.

Aiken actually performed well on STs last year.

I think ST is where he should focus. Don't see him being a factor at DE

Hasn't shown the dedication to improve his body weight and doesn't possess the natural athleticism to contribute beyond special teams. Hopefully I'll eat crow here but that's where he stands as of now.

I'm reluctant to say it's effort. I just don't think he's ever going to be big enough genetically.

point now where we are recruiting and getting athletes that are too talented to RS. Of course, there will be always be some that RS, but a lot of our guys now are high level guys that can contribute right away.

New normal for college football. Tennessee's Barnett was a force last year as a true freshman and he was a low 4 star recruit.

Both Ferrell and Bryant are rated higher than him.

It really depends on the player. It is one thing to be physically gifted it is another to be mature. Many RS players have that moment in the off season and come back physically and mentally ahead of the incoming freshman.
