Uh-oh! The baseball team is "young". I thought we were

"young" last year.

Do teams ever grow up at Clemson?

Yeah, but some of the fans won't.***

baseball teams are almost always young

The good ones leave after their 3rd year. You are always going to lean heavily on Freshmen in baseball. That is good and bad. If they grow up quick and have talent it sets up for a run. If they stay as typical freshmen through their first season it means a sluggish year.

I don't know about you guys,

But young or not, I'm completely stoked about baseball season starting. There are few things that scream "The Clemson Way" more than sitting in Doug Kingsmore and watching some hardball!!

Then that means we better recruit to a high level every year if baseball teams are always young due to the circumstances of the game. Wouldnt ya think?

Yeap

Last year we have and we are on pace going forward. It got behind a couple of years ago.

We also use the JUCO route much less than other schools.

Problem is...

Jan 29, 2013, 10:48 AM [ in reply to Re: baseball teams are almost always young ]

if you recruit at too high a level, the kids don't show up.

Make no mistake, CU is a football school,

But we have so much baseball tradition it's hard not to enjoy it!

They show up at other places with less tradition and fan support. We got lazy in recruiting and it hurt us. Last year was a step in the right direction
