We need one. Fuller and Choice will be gone after next year, and Feaster could theoretically go pro. If we don't take one this class then we will have 1/2 backs with time under their belt going into 2019.

Edit - Choice and/or Fuller could actually be grad transfer candidates this year...

Sure, we could. Depth is paramount to success though and not everyone clicks immediately. Feaster was a 5 star and it took him a year to get accustomed to college.

Imagine we don't take one in 2018 and go into 2019, losing Fuller and Choice to graduation and Feaster suprises by going pro. That would leave only ETN. All it takes is an injury before we are down to true freshman running backs. Even if Feaster came back we would still be very thin. I'd rather have a guy in the system a year to get coached up and up to college speed.

Fuller and Choice may not be back next year. Dabo has said before, the 5th year isn't owed. Clemson doesn't owe them , they don't owe Clemson.

After what transpired last Spring with 3 5th year guys bolting because they weren't gonna be starters, that decision could be made for 5th year guys, with degrees, before NSD this year.



Anyone think that Clemson's gonna carry 4 scholarship kickers next year ?
