How did the coots get a New Years Day BG??? There much more

Dec 28, 2017, 3:30 PM

deserving teams like UCF, or Teams that beat SC. It makes that 8-5 record look like the coots are a legit team and those 8 wins were quality wins. They only beat 2 teams with winning records NC State and Wofford.

IMO NC State is much more deserving of a January 1st BG. They should being playing in the coots spot they have a stronger 8-4 record than SC. SC should be playing ASU in the Sun Bowl. Or in another bowl before January 1st. I know there are Conference BG tie ins. Dang is the SEC that weak that an unranked SC is one of their New Years Day representative excluding the playoff teams. LSU and Auburn earned their NY day BG’s but again how did the coots slide in???

I enjoy the many bowls but some schools always get screwed and some schools get more than they deserve. Great example above.

I would like to see them do away with conference tie ins and we might have less 6-6 teams going to BG’s

And 2 SEC Teams in the CFP.

Also, the SEC got 2 teams into the playoff which moved

everyone up a spot.

If Ohio State gets into the playoff ahead of Bama then you would've seen Bama in the Sugar, Auburn in the Citrus, and then LSU and Miss State in the Outback and Gator. South Carolina probably would've gotten the Belk Bowl.

...and playing one of the weakest schedules in the NCAA.***

highest ranked group of 5 team gets automatic bid to New Years six bowl (UCF), even though the outback bowl is played on New Years, it isn't a New Years six bowl. the New Years six games are: Sugar, Rose, Cotton, Peach, Fiesta, and Orange

I thought the Cotton got demoted.

are they still in the rotation as far as college football playoff games?

I was thinking the same thing… it is kind of strange how they are meaningless bowl is on the same day as our playoff game

Being in a new year's day bowl game doesn't mean anything different than being in one on New year's Eve. Many of the bowls the SEC is contractually tired to are played on New year's day
