He went to Davidson Day school north of charlotte also. There will be a lot of locals who want to see him play. Great pick

Not a fan of Will Grier either. He sucked at Florida and went to the big 12 to put up numbers against a league that doesn’t play pass defense. I can stick with Cam a couple more years until TLaw shows up. If were Carolina, I’d do what Jimmy Johnson did with the cowboys. Tank the season to get first pick.

Love it as well, but I honestly think Cam is going to ball out this year because of it. He’s never had to really compete for the starting job. I’m not saying he is now but he’s got a little more pressure to play well. That , along with his contract year coming up in the next year or 2.

Not sure he's much better than their other backup QBs. Why draft a guy who is being compared to Matt Moore in the third round? They certainly aren't picking him to be their new franchise QB so why waste the pick? Could have gotten a similar player later and picked up a contributor elsewhere instead. Best case for the Panthers is if this guy stands on the sideline for three years and never sees the field so, unless you are getting him for a steal (which they didn't), why bother?

Because if he does stand on the sideline for 3 years, has some decent preseason performances, and Carolina talks him up, somebody will come calling with potentially a 1st round draft pick because NFL teams are that desperate for a competent QB. Just look at Josh Rosen. He absolutely sucked last year, pouted about the Cardinals potentially drafting Murray, has a history of a bad attitude, and it only dropped his value by 1 round.
