Loudest moments in the Valley:

Nov 13, 2015, 9:57 AM

Where does the moment Gallman scored last week rank?

Can we not bring up '05 Miami this time? That would have been a great one if we had won. As it is, it reeks of moral victory whenever it's mentioned.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm really, really wanting that replaced.

Nov 13, 2015, 10:08 AM

I was not there that night so I have no idea how it compared to moments Saturday.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's the truth though...game was so #### loud

Nov 13, 2015, 10:09 AM [ in reply to Re: Loudest moments in the Valley: ]

It's also been 10 years since that game, and the loss is entirely inconsequential at this point. I don't think there's any need to try and claim a moral victory.

Since YOU brought it up...

still the loudest I have ever heard. By far.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We've gotta fix that, unless the way the stadium is now

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It still wins as the loudest moment in Death Valley

Nov 13, 2015, 10:26 AM [ in reply to Re: Loudest moments in the Valley: ]

And that's what the OP was asking about.

The question was loudest moments. The answer is 05 Miami

loudness. If Miami was the loudest... then why not say it?

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If EVERYONE would yell, it would be

Nov 13, 2015, 10:24 AM

Incredibly Loud!

Watched the FSU game last night, and shots of the crowd while we were on defense revealed what I suspected: only a handful of people in a group of 20 was even yelling.

In my sections (UI and UH) it's the same way. Just imagine if we all joined in together.

I'll admit I clap more than yell. I can't y'ell for 25

seconds a time.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Then just go... UUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH at a raised volume.

Nov 13, 2015, 12:42 PM

You can always make some form of noise with your mouth, even if its not yelling or screaming. Unless you are mute for some medical reason. In which case clapping works.

I was in UH , and the people immediately surrounding us were yelling their heads off on each FSU play .
It was very loud .

BC night game in '07 was close all game and really load.

Nov 13, 2015, 10:28 AM

But if Aaron Kelly had hauled in that pass, the
place would have exploded. You could feel the
buildup and then the deflation when the ball
just barely fell off his fingertips as he laid
out for it. One of the biggest "what if" moments
in Clemson FB history.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is the one for me

Nov 13, 2015, 12:59 PM

there was a moment in that game late in the 4th when we were trying to get the ball back, where i felt pain in my ears. There was a split second where it hit that fever pitch where it hurts. That's the only time I have ever heard that fever pitch in death valley.

I think it was because it was a full stadium and it was 95% Tiger fans yelling their lungs out (as opposed to FSU, SC games where like 20-25% of the crowd is away team fans)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

One of the loudest 4th quarters

Nov 13, 2015, 10:35 AM

I've ever experienced in Death Valley. I watched the replay and the crowd volume was muted. Wished ABC could have opened the windows at the end of the game so the viewing public could really hear the Memorial Stadium force.

Miami '05 did not have the sustained volume

Nov 13, 2015, 11:02 AM

of many other games I've been to, but there was no moment as loud as our defensive series at the end of regulation. The noise hit a pitch-level I have never experienced: it broke the barrier of crowd noise and reached a ring/squeal/something I have never heard a crowd create before.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You are 100% correct. The 2011 Auburn game got close to that

Nov 13, 2015, 12:45 PM

from the vantage point of the student section. The roar gave way to a warm static screech on one play. The diving interception play.

Re: Miami '05 did not have the sustained volume

Nov 13, 2015, 3:36 PM [ in reply to Miami '05 did not have the sustained volume ]

Miami in 2005 without question! The announcers on TV simply could not believe the sheer volume! Unless you were there you have absolutely no idea how loud the valley became in the late stages of the game. I've been going to Clemson for at least one or two games per year for the last fifteen years and started going with my late father in 1959 and to my knowledge nothing compares.

Go Tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's because our big games are vs big teams

Nov 13, 2015, 1:03 PM [ in reply to I blame cell phones. Specifically the people doing the ]

who bring a lot of fans, so a good portion of the crowd are their fans who will not be making noise during ethos moments. That's why some of the loudest moments were vs Miami and BC, teams that do not bring a ton of away fans

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You know, this is some sound analysis. It will not keep me

from talking about about the cell phone lighters, but very solid.

while holding my lit phone during light time. Why should one effect the other.

Re: Loudest moments in the Valley:

I wasn't there for Gallman score so I don't know how it compares, but I was there for '05 Miami and it's the loudest Stadium I've ever heard. I'll never forget it. I remember it being said that you could hear the crowd from miles and miles away (I'm not gunna make up some large number to prove the point cause I can't remember the number). But it was far.
