open up 2 Schollies, any idea who we will go after or will we just give them to a walk on?

Seems to me we should go afer a DE and a WR.***

We're going after Lorenzo Featherston (DE) and Josh Malone (WR). Both are top prospects.

Why on earth would you think that!? :)***

When it comes to recruiting strategy, Dabo needs all the help that he can get.

Nov 1, 2013, 11:32 AM

Sammy's scholarship is already being counted in recruiting. I think we are also recruiting more players than we have spots left. I don't think Beasley leaving early will change much except for what position we recruit for the last couple of spots.

no way we're recruiting more players than we have spots. we wouldn't do such a thing.

Them leaving is a big mistake

Nov 1, 2013, 12:00 PM

Look at how many Tigers have left early and were a bust. Beasley is not ready and Sammy sure isn't either IMHO. They are great for college but need more experience to be ready for the NFL.

stock next year. Both leaving are the right decision if you take away the selfish wanting them back b/c the team will be better.

I respectfully disagree regarding Mr. Beasley.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Another year would give him more seasoning but

Nov 1, 2013, 4:33 PM

his stock may be very high with the eye popping number. If those dip and he doesn't get bigger, the stock falls. It is an understandably tough call.

are ready or not. you go to college to increase your earning potential, you can't get much better than the nfl - ceo's,cfo's, etc. included.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You are correct. Neither of them is NFL ready physically

Nov 1, 2013, 12:14 PM [ in reply to Them leaving is a big mistake ]

Nuk Hopkins was physically ready, thus he's having success.

But, if they get good draft grades, the money is too much to pass up. Even with the new lower rookie salaries.

Dude, he was physically ready as a freshmen.

I agree, especially with regard to Beasley. Needs more size and strength.

LOL WUT? Sammy could've been a top10 pick 2 years ago.

Nov 1, 2013, 12:42 PM [ in reply to Them leaving is a big mistake ]

He's been NFL ready since the moment he got to campus. How is he going to improve here? The only thing Sammy needs to do for the NFL is learn a new play book and develop timing and a feel for his new QB. Those things aren't going to happen at CU.

Beasley is probably ready too. You could tell from the weigh-in video at fall camp that his body is basically maxed out. He's not going to get much (if any) bigger or stronger here. He's an explosive athlete that's very fast but also very strong for his size. He can rush, he can chase down QBs from behind, and he will probably be more than capable for covering TEs as an OLB/DE hybrid in a 3-4 somewhere. What else does he need from Clemson?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ha!

Nov 1, 2013, 12:57 PM [ in reply to Them leaving is a big mistake ]

They are definitely ready, especially Sammy. Beasley could stay and learn more since he has not been in the position that long, and maybe gain a little more weight (if possible)... But they are both ready.

Nov 1, 2013, 1:25 PM [ in reply to Re: Losing Vic B. and Sammy W most likely next year, that will ]

Vic is 235 lbs. How many 235 lb. DEs do you see in the NFL? That's right. Zero! If he leaves, that will be a HUGE mistake on his part.

I'm not saying this just because I want him back, saying it because he's not ready at 235 lbs. Those beasts that play OT in the league would carve him up.

Nov 1, 2013, 1:12 PM

he's rated there in the draft.' When the money hit the table we'll see that Beasley isn't going first round.

Sammy is another story. Nobody is really talking about Sammy this year. He got more attention from the guys who pretend to know about draft placements his freshman year. I guess Sammy going first round is a given now, huh?

Sammy goes if his family needs the help and Vic stays to develop into a first rounder.
