My friend at work kept saying he was so ready to get rid of Arky. I told him repeatedly they wanted no part of A&M because they would be on the same level as Bama within 3 years. I guess he is going to get what he wished for.

Texas A&M has one of the most expandable-friendly stadiums

Feb 22, 2013, 9:49 AM

in the country.

It currently seats 82,500, and that is without an entire endzone filled in as well as available space in the corners. They also have the nation's largest student section, as they reserve over 29k seats for the corps of cadets and other students.

Theirs may be the largest, but . . .

Feb 22, 2013, 9:50 AM

There are major stadium expansion/renovation efforts either already underway, or approved at LSU, Vandy, UK and Missouri.

TAMU may be the luckiest school of all time

Feb 22, 2013, 10:05 AM

in terms of CFB. They just so happened to get let into the almighty SEC at just the right time, then BAM! Hiesman trophy winner! BAM! National exposure! New stadium!

I guarantee none of this would have happened if they were still in the Big 12

wow.....going to be a monster of a stadium***

They are in the east so they play every year already. the 2012 2013 brigge schedules have them playing Arknasas like normal then the 2015 schedule should have the new arrangement.

put their capacity over 120,000 that was before the economy went south. I'm sure those plans still exist and this is part of those original plans. I am definately an Aggie in the SEC now simply because they came in from the Big 12 and whipped the sec premier team, BAMA on their on field. I hope they beat them again this year in College Station.

A&M should have a large financial advantage over the rest of the SEC. And I think their situation is still tied closely to the price of oil through the permanent university fund. In the southwest, UT always had a narrow advantage over A&M but they might be kings of the southeast soon.
