Looking at our numbers since

Nov 7, 2017, 12:19 PM

we became "good" again in 1977 until now. We had some mediocre years in there. But 2017 is the 41st season since that '77 season when we came back onto the scene.

Since '77 until now we have played exactly 500 games. We are 346 - 148 - 6 during that time. A .692 winning percentage since '77 plus a lot of conference titles, bowl games, and 2 national championships. We are also 26 -13 - 1 versus the Coots since '77, winning almost 7 of every 10 games.

Pretty dang good run over the last 41 seasons. Hope we add six more wins this year!

Go Tigers!

What you said is appreciated a lot more by we who

... by we who grew up during the 16 seasons (1960-1976) in which Clemson went to absolutely NO bowls, couldn't compete with any SEC teams and had a hard time just getting to a 6-4 season.

Fans had to live through that era to really totally appreciate the way things have gone since 1977.

Apextiger, unless I misread, Clemson went to the Blue Bonnet bowl in 1959 (Dec) won. Also in Jan 1959, played LSU, in the Sugar Bowl (LSU won NC ) and in 1977 went to Gator Bowl and lost to Pitt. Agree, there were a lot of bad years during that time and thanks God those times are behind us hopefully to never return.

I think. We started running the Hill again and it still took a few years to wash away his malaise

Clemson was pretty bad under Red Parker for four years. Charlie Pell put the Tigers back on the map. Wonder if he regrets having left such a good situation.
