Combined Academic/Athletic Rankings-CU No. 56?

Jul 14, 2012, 7:33 PM

Interesting way to do a combined academic/athletic ranking. Essentially, they add the US News academic ranking, plus the NCAA graduation rate, plus the Learfield Sports Directors Cup rankings and take an average. Clemson comes in at 56, UNC 19, Duke 1, Vanderbilt 10, Florida 28. SC did not make the top 100.

IF true, Clemson's graduation rate for athletes is 197th out of roughly 300 D1 schools.

Another bogus ranking. How could Williams College be #1 in athletic rank? What do they ever win? Rankings like that count quantity of sports programs rather than quality.

2010 to 2011 ... from 97 to 56, and from 421 to 197 in graduation rank.

If you want to compare "apples and apples" click on the D1 tab. The initial screen combines D1, D2, etc, which is pretty meaningless.
