This could really be very big for the ACC and generate more revenue share.

Unfortunately no extra money. Just another outlet.

Lol... not the case, but if it makes you sleep better...

Go ahead and think so.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

YES is getting the games from Fox Sports(minority owner of YES) who is getting the games from Raycom who is getting the games from ESPN.So while there will be more coverage just no more money. If believing differently helps you sleep so be it.

The New York-based Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network, or YES, has reached an agreement with Fox Sports to broadcast ACC football and basketball games this season.

YES is on channel 631 on DirecTV .

Under the ACC’s current television arrangement, ESPN owns the television rights to ACC sporting events and sublicenses a certain amount of them to Raycom Sports, which then licenses select events to Fox regional networks.

does this mean LESS network coverageas a result?

Jul 13, 2013, 2:57 PM

...like if I don't get the YES network?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

not if you are still in simpsonville (sc)!

Jul 13, 2013, 3:09 PM

when you were in jersey, you got what 1.ny didn't want, or 2. what ny wanted to give you.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like anything with the name "Yankee" in it.

it's a shame they didn't ask your opinion first

great. will they be giving us a heads up w/ which games they are going to show so we can find a good deal on a flight to NYC to watch the game on their cable system? soon we're going to own the Yonkers recruiting.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think this affects us down here at all. If I'm

Jul 13, 2013, 10:17 PM

understanding it correctly, YES will just have the regional coverage rights to that area.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes Network is a Fox Sports Channel I think

Jul 13, 2013, 8:36 PM

At least that's what I could make of it when I had the sports pak with dish network so if its a regional game it would probably be on Fox Sports South and if its a game in the northeast it will be on the Yes network. The only problem with this is you would have to add a sports pak to your dish network or direct tv package unless you have it already.
